Roofing is installed by an established local roofing crew we work with regularly. Reed Home Solutions manages the project, permits and any related interior repairs.
Mountain roofing problems we see
- Ice dams: heat loss melts snow, which refreezes at the eaves and backs water under shingles. Ventilation, insulation and ice-and-water underlayment are the long-term fix.
- Snow load and sliding snow: heavy snow stresses older framing, and sliding snow damages gutters, vents and decks below.
- Hail and wind: storm damage that often qualifies for an insurance claim.
- Flat and low-slope roofs on condos and modern homes, where drainage and membrane seams are everything.
Roof leaks and the damage inside
A roof leak rarely stops at the roof. Wet insulation, stained drywall and mold in the attic are common by the time a leak is noticed. Because we come from water-damage restoration, Reed Home Solutions can handle both sides: the roof and the interior repairs, under one estimate.
Roofing and insurance claims
If hail or wind damaged your roof, we document the damage, prepare a detailed repair estimate and communicate with your adjuster. Colorado law prohibits roofing contractors from paying or waiving a homeowner’s insurance deductible, and we follow that rule on every job. Be wary of any contractor who offers to.

Every estimate is written and itemized. These are the factors that move the number most. For contract types and how to compare bids, see how remodel pricing works.
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Roof size and pitch | Steeper roofs need more safety equipment and labor. |
| Material | Asphalt, metal and flat-roof membranes differ widely. |
| Layers to remove | Multiple old layers add tear-off cost. |
| Decking repair | Rotted sheathing is replaced as found. |
| Ice-and-water and ventilation | Key to preventing ice dams. |

Frequently asked questions
Do you install roofs yourselves?
Roofing is installed by an established local roofing crew we work with regularly. Reed Home Solutions manages the scope, permits, schedule, insurance paperwork and any interior repairs, so you have one contractor accountable for the whole job.
How do I stop ice dams?
Short term, careful snow and ice removal at the eaves. Long term, ice dams are a heat-loss problem: improving attic insulation and ventilation and installing ice-and-water underlayment during reroofing are the lasting fixes.
Will insurance pay for my roof?
Insurance typically covers sudden damage such as hail or wind, not wear and age. We document damage and prepare an estimate for your adjuster, but coverage decisions are your insurer’s. We never offer to waive or cover a deductible, which Colorado law prohibits for roofing contractors.
Can you repair a flat roof on a condo building?
Yes. We recently managed a flat-roof system on a condo building in Vail and can work with HOAs and property managers on scope, access and scheduling.
